It is difficult to present that it was once named a «carrot» quite not orange, but violet color. In fact at first a red carrot which we habit to had a violet tint pale. This root crop was known just the same in Ancient Afghanistan, where began to rear a carrot a lot of centuries ago. Europeans long did not acknowledge a carrot edible vegetable. Violet «counterfoils» went to the forage horse, and carrot biota was used for the decoration of difficult hair-dos of ladies. Thus the main lack of carrot was consider not taste, but tot violet color which not only betrayed a vegetable little an appetizing kind quite even, but yet and painted other products, used for preparation to go or other the foods.

And only after the numerous experiments of selectionists, a carrot, finally, parted with the violet coloring and became orange.
