There are other versions of appearance of potato in Europe. Long time this merit was added the English vice-admiral Francis Dreyk, who, as is generally known, gave orders to the corsair flotilla. On the statue of famous navigator, set in Offenburg, such inscription is done: «Sir Francis Dreyk, which brought in a potato to Europe in a year 1580».
